Back in 1940, Witold Pilecki actually let himself get arrested on purpose just to be sent to Auschwitz. He wanted to find out what was really going on inside and gather proof of the mass killings. It’s hard to imagine that kind of courage, what he did was unbelievably brave and selfless.
